Get More Money: GET MORE MONEY: 3 Things You Need to Know about the Infinity Insurance Claim Process

And One Surefire Way to Get the Most Out of Your Personal Injury Claim

A Guide to Getting a Higher Settlement from Your Insurance Company

Infinity Insurance started out in 1955 in Alabama as the Dixie Insurance Company. From its start as a regional insurance company, Infinity has grown to be one of the top 50 Property & Casualty Insurance companies in the US with annual revenue of approximately $1.5 billion dollars.  Their primary insurance product is Personal Automobile insurance, although they also offer Commercial Vehicle coverage and Classic Collector coverage for vintage cars.

On their website, Infinity claims to be “A Company All About You,” and they talk about their “continuous customer care” and “unwavering commitment to policyholders.” It sure sounds great. Unfortunately, the internet is full of complaints against Infinity by policyholders who feel the company has been anything but caring and committed.

Make the Most of Infinity P&C Insurance Claim Settlements Like all insurance companies, Infinity is a business out to minimize losses and maximize profits—so they will try just about anything to deny or minimize payments on claims. A popular tactic used by Infinity (and other insurance companies) is to check for “exclusions” on your policy. If they can find a loophole in the exclusions, they’ll use it to deny your claim.

If you’ve been injured in an auto accident caused by another driver, you have a legal right to be reimbursed for the expenses you’ve incurred—not just the damages to your car, but any medical bills you’ve incurred as a result of injuries from your accident. Insurance companies have a legal and moral responsibility to settle policyholder claims fairly and promptly, yet this rarely ever happens.

Unfortunately, the only sure way to get the settlement you’re owed is to have an experienced Milwaukee car accident attorney represent you. Warshafsky Law has extensive experience litigating against insurance, and we know all the games they play to delay and deny payment on claims. More importantly, we have a long history of success in getting insurance companies to pay up. If you’re getting nowhere with your claim, we’re here to help.

6 Wisconsin Car Accident Laws with a HUGE Impact on Your Claim

When people choose their personal injury lawyer based on the endorsement of a football player or actor, they risk choosing an attorney who has never won more money in a courtroom. Settlement mills forward your paperwork and take a cut of your damages.

Hundreds of times we have prepared cases like yours beyond the brink of trial. Facing unlimited liability AND an expensive jury trial, insurance companies fess up what your case is worth. They HATE when you choose Warshafsky. Insurance companies know: it IS about the money.

#2.Handling an Infinity Insurance Claim On Your Own

If you can ever actually get anyone at Infinity Insurance on the phone, you’ll get the usual reassurance they’re working hard to settle your claim as quickly as possible. Don’t count on it.

Truth is, insurance companies are never in any hurry to get a claim settled—especially one requiring a big payout. Their endless delay tactics are designed to grind you down to the point you’ll take whatever puny settlement they offer just to finally be done with them.

The only way to get a fair settlement from an insurance company is to retain a personal injury attorney to do battle for you. For those stubborn enough to consider taking on their insurance company on their own, though, here are a few pointers:

The settlement check they sent you is just an offer to settle

After the claim adjuster at Infinity Insurance reviews your claim, they’ll decide how much they’re going to pay on your claim and (eventually) send you a check. Don’t get too excited, it’s not likely to be anywhere close to what you should be getting.

You may be drowning in medical bills, so it can be tempting to run out and deposit their check. Don’t! Once you do that, there’s no negotiating with them for more money. The settlement check is nothing more than offer of settlement. If you cash the check, you’ve essentially said “I accept this offer.”

Be aware of the statute of limitations on personal injury claim suits

If you’re contesting a settlement from your insurance company, you really have only one weapon: the threat of a lawsuit. Keep in mind, though, you only have three years from the date of your accident to file a suit. If you don’t file suit within 3 years, you forfeit the right to file a suit. Three years go by faster than you might think, so keep an eye on the calendar and don’t wait until the last minute.

If your insurance company says there’s no need to get lawyers involved, get a lawyer

No matter how committed you are to dealing with Infinity Insurance on your own, you’ll inevitably get so fed up you’ll find yourself asking your claim rep if you need to get an attorney involved. The rep will assure you there’s no need for lawyers, but consider this: Infinity has entire office floors full of attorneys to protect their interests (i.e. their profits). Why shouldn’t you have an attorney looking out for your best interests?

#3.5 Do’s and Don’ts to Increase Your Infinity Auto Insurance Personal Injury Settlement
Jump to: Keep your cool. Document all expenses, Get medical care, Don't sell yourself short, Hire an attorney

DO your homework.

The more you know about the claims process, the less likely you’ll be taken advantage of by your insurance company. A good place to start is to familiarize yourself with the most common insurance company tactics used to minimize your settlement.

DO the math.

If you want to be fully compensated, you need to document everything the accident has cost you. Along with hospital bills, keep your receipts for the bandages, crutches, pain medications and other peripheral expenses you’ve had. You also need to document your mileage to and from doctor appointments, as well as the days you couldn’t work due to your injury.

Document all these expenses to calculate the full value of your claim:

  • Property damage
  • Car rental
  • Deductible
  • Hospital deductible
  • Prescription drugs
  • Chiropractic care
  • Pain and suffering
  • Lost wages
  • Future medical expenses
  • Subrogation

DON’T be pressured into anything.

If your insurance company is leaning on you to accept their settlement, don’t. Even if the bills are piling up and you’re down to your last can of sardines, you’ll come to regret caving in to an insurance company’s pressure tactics. You have a legal right to be fully compensated for your injuries, but to get everything you’re owed you’re going to need an experienced personal injury attorney.

DON’T trust “sign and settle” lawyers.

Law firms that runs radio ads boasting about the thousands of personal injury cases they’ve settled are the classic “sign and settle” law firms. They’ll sit at a bargaining table with insurance company lawyer and play footsie under the table (figuratively speaking), then tell you the lowball offer they worked out with the insurer is the best you can hope to get.  All they care about is getting their cut of the settlement and moving on to the next case.

DO consult an experienced personal injury attorney

Almost all personal injury law firms offer a free initial consultation with an attorney. Take advantage of it! While some law firms will have you meet with a paralegal, at Warshafsky Law you’ll meet with an actual personal injury attorney. We’ll give you a straightforward assessment of your case and let you know how much you should realistically get from your insurance company if you take them to court.

#4.Get Fair Compensation for Your Infinity Auto Insurance Claim

The one sure way to get the settlement you’re owed is to get an experienced personal injury lawyer to represent you. When Infinity Insurance finds out Warshafsky Law is representing you in a lawsuit against them, one of two things will happen: 1) Fearing a massive loss at trial, your insurance company acknowledges the true value of your claim and cuts you a check, or 2) Your insurance company doesn’t budge on their pathetic settlement offer and we take them to court to get what you’re owed. With our history of winning record-setting judgments in court, they’re likely to leave the courthouse with their tails tucked between their legs.
